Why oh why did I only take one photo?

Dinosaur Museum in Norman. I think it has a more official name than this. But at our house it is the Dinosaur Museum. On the first Monday of the month it is FREE, so we really try to make the trek to Norman monthly. I'm thankful for my good friend Catherine and her little one who will join us! Ask her son about the Cimolestes, k?

Easter Egg Hunt at OC

Katie loves to get her face painted! And this folks...is the best photo I could get of my 3 on this day! They are all looking at the camera! :)
Collin and Katie are holding their prize winning baskets for running in the kids race. Collin came in 2nd in his division and Katie came in 3rd. We are proud of our running kiddos. I DO NOT like to run, but have hidden this little tidbit about myself from my kids so shhhhhhhhhh, do not reveal my secret please. I want them to keep running. :)
Jackson totally got into the hunting of the eggs this year! I love how he hangs his basket in the crook of his elbow.
Collin ran out of room in his basket so he used his shirt.
Love this photo of me and my choo-choo.

Matt and Collin ran the 3-legged race together against me and Katie. Now I do not like running...but for 4 years in high school my friend Hal Riley and I ran the 3-legged race like nobody's business in the Wylie High School Challenge of the Super Classes! Which might be fun to do again at our 20 year reunion coming up this fall...I'm sure we are all still in super shape to participate in all the events. Of course...he was a runner...and all I had to do was stay in step with him.
OC's girls social clubs put on a great little festival for our kiddos with lots of fun booths, tons of candy and lots of fun! And bonus...they even get the Chick-fil-A cow to come out so we scored a few free kid's meals!

The Wheat Challenge!

So....way back in February, Jackson was retested for all his food allergies. And he didn't lose a one of them! He actually got to add 3 more to the list! :) His immune system is a mystery to all who see his file!
On this day...he had a wheat challenge. Because his wheat number is low and because he is no longer a good candidate for oral desensitation therapy, his allergist was ready to dive into the food challenges with wheat in the spring, milk in a baked good in the summer and egg in a baked good in the fall.
The photo above is 10 minutes after Cream of Wheat has been rubbed on his lip. We have red splotches, and a puffed up bottom lip, soon to be joined with a couple of red spots on one of his cheeks.
So...the challenge was a fail. The egg and milk challenges are off. We will keep doing what we are doing until he turns 3 and keep praying that he will grow out of ALL 15 food allergies and NOT gain any more. And in other news, Jackson Bill Round 2 begins in June. This time I'm more informed, more determined and more aware of the "game" of politics. Thank you blog friends for your help this year. I'm sure I'll call on you again. :)

Legoland

Collin opted for no friend party this year. So for his 9th birthday we took him to Legoland in Grapevine, Texas. Of course, we celebrated it during spring break due to little brother's brief visit to the hospital. Collin LOVED this place!!!
Jackson even got in on some Lego action while big brother and big sister rode one of the rides.
And then we paid a pretty penny for our 2 oldest to jump on a trampoline in the mall. Nevermind the fact that we own a trampoline in our backyard...this one takes you ALL the way up to the ceiling!!
And we got to visit our McCook cousins in Justin, TX. Don't you love the name of that town? It's so Texas! And the name of their street?? Bluebonnet Lane!! What a perfect address!
Gage (AKA Gadget) age 15 ( I know he'll be thrilled that I put his nickname in here, but I bet he is not a blog reader so I'm safe, right?), Katie, Garrison age 12, Grant age 11, Jackson and Collin. We have lots of fun with these McCook cousins.

Spring Break Fun

I borrowed this idea from a friend: pay your children tokens for chores done well. So over spring break we headed down to Chuck E. Cheese to spend the earnings!
It just so happened that Jackson "earned" just as many as Collin and Katie! This little guy is so much fun at Chuck E. Cheese! We don't stay for the food since CEC is not one of our safe places to eat out. But I sure do appreciate the fact that each game is 1 token! And 1 token = 25 cents.

Spring Break Project #1

was to transfer Jackson to his big boy bed. Jackson was SO excited!
I temporarily lost my mind that day. He is 2 1/2 and back in the crib. Why mess with a good thing? He sleeps from 8pm - 7am perfectly in the crib. The one night we tried the big boy bed, he stayed awake until 10:30pm with me lying next to him patting his back, getting kicked in the face, trying to pretend I was asleep (which I might have been until I received another kick). I'm guessing he will be potty trained before we try this big boy bed thing again.

Disco Night

Collin and Katie were super excited to attend the much-hyped-up Disco Night at their school!
Yes - it was way back in March...but someday I will scrapbook these pictures and need to remember what was going on here.
The man in the yellow, might I say pimp, outfit is their principal. I like him for many reasons and this is one of them! Another is the fact that I see him every day. Outside. Rain or shine. Working the carpool. Talking to kids, parents. I've seen him twice at his desk. I like that. Two thumbs up Mr. Higdon!
Katie and her good friend. During prayer request time in her Bible class she says, "I am thankful for my love for..." this boy. And you know what? I love this little boy too. I pray that they will be lifelong friends. Six is much too young for love, yes?
Collin and his "best friend in the whole world," who gets to wear glasses and is tall and has a Wii. I'm so glad the mommy of these two boys and I worked it out that we stayed at home that night while our husbands handled Disco Night! We planned well! :)
